I will admit I've been wary of and hesitant about subscribing to news outlets, but after reading all about the fragile economics of news outlets, I subscribed to CyclingTips. That was one of the best decisions I made. The quality of the reporting the journalism there was beyond compare, at least until Outside applied its corporate vivisection to CT. What's left is a void that makes me ache for what CT gave to the cycling community and truly appreciate the heart and the ethic upon which you and all of the staff built CT.
I am excited to see what you and your journalists and friends create, and I'm going to support what ever that is in every way possible.
Awesome! I only came to CT relatively recently, but the collapse had me almost in mourning. The moment I heard the Placeholder podcast exists, I went straight in to listen and it cheered me up no end to hear a familiar set of voices, format and quality of content.
I am really looking forward to your new collective venture, and if it's anything like CT was prior to Outside throwing in the hand grenade, then take my money already.
FUCK. YES. Fuck yeah to the fuck yes. Here for it… now and in the future. You had me at “not catering to the lowest common denominator”, but also the rest of it. Take my damn money.
This is the most joyful news, Wade, and exactly what 'the' people are after. Stoked to be in at the foothills and can't wait to see you, Caley, and the team conquering huge cols.

While I never signed up for the Veloclub, I found CT to be the best there is. Looking forward to the new thing and considering becoming a paying subscriber at least for the first year.
One more wish: No Facebook/Google/other tech giant tracking code in the page. You might need analytics & other tools but alternatives with better privacy options exist.
Am I the only one getting Star Wars 'Rebel Alliance' feels here, if only I still had those two gold XX1 cassettes I made a Princess Leia bikini top out of. Seriously though, very excited to see how this takes shape and more than ready to support any way I can. Good luck Wade, Caley, Dave and all the other media Jedi's you manage to contact.
Best news this year. I was gutted for you all with the lay-offs and implosion of CT last year. So looking forward to what you create this time. Please "shut up and take my money"! With you all the way.
Excellent news, I’m pleased you and Caley have talked this through and reached this conclusion. I only wrote in my own Substack at the weekend, how I didn’t know where to go any more for insightful cycling media. You have given me the answer. Personally would love to invest but not sure what levels you are looking at as I’m certainly no giant investment fund. Can’t wait to follow the journey and jump on the roller coaster. Chapeau and good luck
Andy Van Bergen is doing great work with Everesting site. Be great see the team back together again.
Where’s that “shut up and take my money!” Meme….
Great to hear you giving this a crack team, will be sure to sign up.
Bravo!! Can’t wait to see whats to come. Was really hoping you’d bring the band back together ☺️
Wade, this just fills me me with so much joy, am so happy you’re teaming up again, and cannot wait to see what you guys bring to the table.
The ginormous hole that was left after that other entity was gutted, was soul destroying.
Very excited to say the least!
You had me at "onwards"!

Now there's some exciting news! Can't believe you're putting the band back together so quickly, bring it on!
We're with you Wade...and team! Exciting times ahead for all of us in the cycling industry.

Looking forward to the next chapter! Count me in! I’m sure whatever is coming is going to be great.
I see over there they’ve silenced the CT forum now too… 😐
Was there anyone left to read or comment?
