Dear readers, This is my first real SubStack post and I'm not entirely sure what to write. But from experience with doing this thousands of times I know that if I just start writing, something will start to come out. If I’m honest, I’ve written this three times now and each time I finish, something extraordinary happens at CyclingTips that give me pause and forces me write it again.
It’s been a great ride Wade and the team you put together at Cyclingtips was a credit to you. I’ve resigned from Veloclub ( previously member #5) but signed up for Caley and Dave’s new podcast - keen to see what your creative brain comes up with next.
The identity and engagement that CT held with it’s readers is unique in the cycling world. I’m confident there’s goodwill and public support to get behind whatever you and the team choose to do next. It was great to see this brief update, keep us posted!
Distressed football clubs in the U.K. have sometimes been purchased by supporters trusts, with fans contributing and thus owning a club. No idea if there’s potential for that here but could be worth exploring given the scale of disappointment at cyclingtips collapsing
We all know the first few pedal turns on the rollers are the wobbly ones, but we also know you don't bounce off the door frame often before you start spinning something really special. Like everyone else here we're excited to see where this next chapter goes and keen to help however we can. Blank pages without any title or commission to help narrow the focus are the most terrifying to start scrawling on, but huge respect for picking up the pen anyway.

Thanks Wade. Have ALWAYS appreciated your candidness - this post is no different. And yes, I'm so happy Caley, Dave & Dane have got a new Pod going.
I look forward with optimism.
CyclingTips is just a name. What made the site so special and unique were the talented writers (you could certainly pick them). Those skills aren't lost, and those people are too gifted to be lost to cycling.

Your podcast is an all-time favorite of mine. Cycling is an activity, sport, industry but so much more. Your conversations with the entrepreneurs and influencers captured the breadth and depth of cycling so thoughtfully. You and the CT gang have accrued so much trust, which is real currency in our cynical/short sighted world. I'm hoping that blank piece of paper in front of you is a window unto something wonderful for all of us.
So sad indeed what happened to CT. That being said, change is the only constant. The space is ripe for fresh perspective and this could be the catalyst. Here’s to embracing it and joining along for the journey.
Looking forward, never back

One foot in front of the other. No doubt there will be something awesome down the road.

Great to read your familiar personal style again Wade

Wade and the gang, here's wishing you all, all the very best from a reader in India. 🙏🏻
Great to hear from you Wade and looking forward to hearing lots more from you and hopefully some of the ex-CT crew in the future

Looking forward to the future Wade! And I hope that includes a resurrection of From the Top 🎧
Chapeau Wade on standing up again.

Great to hear from Wade again. Memories and experiences from CT of old that deserve a future.
baby steps
Thanks Wade, I was hoping you might put the band back together. Have you spoken to Iain Treloar yet?
