In just 48 hours, the reception of our Escape Collective launch campaign has been overwhelming to say the least. We’re 60% of the way towards our target and I’m close to certain that we’ll get to the next phase and hit the ground running before Milan san Remo.
However, I know the last 40% will be the most difficult. Just like a bike race, the fresh legs aren’t so fresh anymore and now it’s time where the real work gets done.
I anticipate our members will come in 3 waves:
The Believers. These are the people who have signed up already because they believe in our mission. They’ve seen what we’ve done before and trust our promise that we can do it again, this time even better. They did a massive pull in the first 60% of this race. Thank you Believers!
The Proofers. These are the people who need some proof that we’ll do what we say we’re going to do. Either by way of social proof (i.e. seeing their friends join) or waiting until we get going and seeing our work. You folks are starting to come to the front to roll some turns now that you’ve seen everyone else do so. I get it. I’d typically be in the Proofer category.
The Savers. These are the ones where a pricing promotion tips them over the edge. You folks are the sprinters. You patiently bide your time until the finish and then blow everyone away. You’re smart and patient. But this one ain’t coming down to a sprint this year or next.
There are a lot more #2’s and #3’s out there than #1’s. But the Believers are our lifeblood. Our job over the next week is to turn people into Believers so we can get to the finish line!
Thank you to the thousands of you who have put up your hard earned dollars to back this project. The entire team is humbled and we’re not going to stop pushing this until we get to our target.
I’m not cut out to drive Uber. We’re so close…
Thanks to everyone, have a wonderful weekend, and ride safe!
Wade
P.S. For those of you on the edge of signing up, please know that our Founders Wall will live there in perpetuity and this is your only chance to get on it. So become a Believer and get on it!
Do you know the story of Monty Python's "Life of Brian"? One of the primary investors was George Harrison. He said it wasn't really an investment, he just wanted to see the movie. I feel like you have your George Harrison out there, someone with money who just wants your brand of cycling content.
Iain and his family are saved! We need his words to brighten the day. .........sorry, and the rest of the team too. Cat 1.
